Experience Workshop and the organisation SEAMEO STEM-ED (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for STEM Education) entered into a new educational partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding in Jyväskylä/Finland.
Building Connections with Finnish Education Experts
In early October, Experience Workshop was pleased to welcome a delegation from SEAMEO STEM-ED in Finland and to open up new collaboration opportunities in STEM education for them.
During the visit, the SEAMEO STEM-ED representatives including Dr. Kritsachai Somsaman (Centre Director), Dr. Orawan Sriboonruang (Knowledge Management Manager), and Dr. Norhaniza binti Abdul Hamid (Research and Evaluation Manager) met Finnish partners active in the development of STEAM education in Finland.
It started with a meeting at the Embassy of Malaysia including Professor Jan Lundell (Director of the LUMA Centre), and Dr. Kristof Fenyvesi (senior researcher, University of Jyväskylä, STEAM director Experience Workshop) to discuss future cooperation opportunities.

In Jyväskylä, the guests were welcomed by Dr. Kristof Fenyvesi and his colleagues to exchange insights about joint research projects the University of Jyväskylä.


A Milestone for Future Collaboration
The MOU signing between SEAMEO STEM-ED and Experience Workshop confirms the shared commitment to promote STEM/STEAM education, phenomenon-based learning, and project-based learning in Southeast Asia and Finland.


SEAMEO STEM-ED also signed a cooperation agreement with the LUMA Centre in Helsinki.


Cultural Experience in Helsinki
To understand Finland’s learning environment more closely, the SEAMEO STEM-ED group explored key cultural and educational sites in Helsinki with Experience Workshop. The city tour spanned the inner city area from the city library Oodi to the Helsinki harbour.
