As a member of Education Finland, Experience Workshop was invited by the Embassy of Finland in Bangkok/Thailand to join didacta asia 2025 between 15-17 October. The theme of this year’s fair, “Gateway to Tomorrow’s Education”, reflected its focus on how teaching and learning are evolving across Southeast Asia.

Over the three-day event at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre, the programme included an exhibition of educational technologies and resources, congress sessions for educators and policy-makers, and networking opportunities across the region. During the fair, Charlotte Au Yong, programme coordinator of Experience Workshop, attended a range of seminars and workshops.

Thai–Finnish Seminar

On the second day, the event brought together Finnish and Thai education experts in a seminar with the theme “Innovations and Future Learning”, organised by the Thai Ministry of Education together with the Embassy of Finland in Thailand. The seminar covered key themes such as STEM education with AI support, vocational training and lifelong learning, and phenomenon-based learning. From the exchange between Thai ministry officials and Finnish educators, discussions highlighted how Finnish student-centred approaches, and phenomenon-based learning can be adapted to Thai cultural and school contexts.

Reception Evening at the residence of the Ambassador of Finland

In the evening, Experience Workshop joined the reception hosted by the Finnish Embassy. The gathering provided great networking possibilities between Finnish organisations and Thai schools, allowing to engage in informal dialogues about potential collaboration opportunities.

Valuable insights from didacta asia 2025

SEAMEO STEM-ED, as one of the supporting partners of didacta asia 2025, played an important role in connecting Experience Workshop with Thai educational stakeholders during the event.

All in all, the didacta exchanges provided a clearer understanding of Thailand’s current directions in STEM/ STEAM education and helped identify potential areas for collaboration.
